We’ve had quite a few emails lately asking for a face toner recipe. I’ve researched and tried quite a few but always come back to using the Wendyl’s Baby Wipe Solution as a toner. It contains Witchhazel which is antiseptic and soothing for inflamed skin and Rosewater which is also antiseptic and anti-bacterial – perfect for cleansing the skin without drying it out.
However, if you or anyone in your family has trouble with acne, you may need to up the ante a bit. Here’s a super-soothing toner specifically for acne-prone skin. It’s made from organic green tea, organic raw apple cider vinegar, and essential oil.
ACV Toner for acne prone skin
¾ cup strong brewed Organic Green Tea
8 drops Lavender Essential Oil Pour the green tea and vinegar into a glass jar or spray bottle and shake to combine. Use a cotton pad or ball to apply to skin after cleansing. Store in refrigerator to keep fresh. This will last for two to three weeks.
Green Tea antioxidant, antibacterial and inhibits the production of sebum by 50%
Apple Cider antibiotic, antiseptic and cleans away dead skin cells, clears your pores
Lavender oil is antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, soothes and nourishes the skin
**Drinking Organic Green Tea every day will also help fight hormonal acne as it reduces insulin levels responsible for the production of sebum. It also contains antioxidants that are 25 to 100 times more potent than vitamin C which helps to reduce inflammation that’s known to cause acne
